Lighting in Digital Photography
Lighting in digital photography can either make or break photography. Lighting determines how rich or how poor a picture will be. The light meter which is found in digital cameras controls the amount of light that the camera reflects. To take the best shots, the photographer will need to choose the lighting according to the mode of photography.
The photographer should put factors like shadows wanted, angle of light and the use of fill flash into consideration. Flash fill allows photographers to lighten darkness in images by filling them with flash light. Lighting in digital photography can be manipulated to give photo effects such as silhouettes, lights in motion and pictures with moonlight.

The angle of light will determine the shadow that is cast. The shadow must be used in a way that gives an image depth through the light’s angle. Rays of light give photographers photos which are very impressive. They can be manipulated to bring out photo qualities which are outstanding. The rays of light can be brought through in form of artificial lighting, a brilliant sunset or even an open window that pours in light to an object. Silhouettes are created by subjecting light to an object from behind. The camera will use this backlight to bring out silhouetted features and the results got from this kind of photography are very fascinating.
Lighting helps photographers take pictures with great precision. It helps produce photos that are without the red eye effect as it is completely eliminated. Photography scenes which are done at night will look brighter and better due to lighting. Lighting helps digital photographers capture videos of a high quality. In low light situations, the composition is improved.
Natural light is the best light for digital photography. It is however inconsistent subject to sudden and unpredictable weather changes. The white balance in digital cameras helps give images a natural balance as lighting can sometimes make photos look unusual.
