Choosing The Best Hair Loss Product
In order to make an informed decision as to which hair growth product to use, you really need to understand there are two distinct phases of hair loss. What works for one phase will not be very effective for the second. For example, the first phase is actually hair thinning and balding. This means you are actively losing more than the 20 to 50 hairs that are normally lost per day.
During this phase, short of a hair transplant the best hair loss product is going to be one that slows down or preferably stops the loss of hair at the current amount. There are two possible drugs that can be used for this phase, one is a tablet taken each day (Finasteride) and the other is a topical solution applied to the scalp in the morning and the evening ( Minoxidil).
Both of these drugs were actually originally developed to treat other health ailments, but it was noticed during trials that men with male pattern baldness actually saw relief from hair loss while using the drugs. If you are a woman then you are limited to the second, as Finasteride has been known to cause birth defects in male children.
The second phase of hair loss is when you actually have a pronounced bald spot. At this point there are really no best hair loss products that are going to make your hair grow back. Once a head is bald the hair follicles have stopped producing and they will not start up again. The only options if you want a full head of hair are to wear hair pieces or to have hair restoration surgery which involves transplanting hair from one area of the scalp to balding area. This method is very popular now and gives very good results with near 100% success.
If you are thinking about treating your balding with a hair loss product, you really need to know which phase of hair loss you are trying to treat.
