A digital camcorder is defined as a device that is a video camera and recorder in one unit. In layman’s terms a digital camcorder is a camcorder that instead of recording on VHS tapes, records the images on mini DVD tape, DVD disc, a hard drive or a memory card. Also unlike the old VHS camcorders, a digital video camcorder is much smaller ranging around a pound or less. A pocket size canon digital camcorder or other brands like Flip usually use a memory card or hard drive and is not much larger than a cell phone making it easy to take anywhere you go. You can even purchase a high definition digital camcorder.
The price for a good digital camcorder can range from between a couple of hundred dollars to over a thousand for a good quality HD camcorder. Like the digital camera the digital camcorder is convenient and easy to use and allows you to do more with your home videos than was ever possible before. All you have to do is visit your local High definition camcorder shop or get online and search blogs and retailers for some great deals and information on the next great electronic purchase for your documented memories.
