If you are one of these people, you might consider the advantages of a Bluetooth hands free car kit and a Bluetooth headset. First consider the fact that you can talk on your phone hands free which reduces the risk of having an accident. You need to realize however, that there are many top quality brands to select from so do your homework.

Here are a few points to consider when you are shopping around.

Consider first the call quality. It might be to your advantage to go to the local electronic store and try out a couple of different models to make sure you can hear the person you are talking to. They sometimes have a demo unit to test out in the store. If the kit comes with a lot of gadgets, make sure you know how to operate them as it is very dangerous while driving trying to figure out how to operate something. Your insurance carrier can provide you with the current statistics on the increased number of accidents caused by people trying to fool around with things in their car while driving!

Look into the speech command feature. You don’t want to be dialing numbers in your car while driving. This feature allows you to cleanly state the numbers out loud and the numbers will be dialed for you. How cool is that?

The final consideration is the battery life. Bluetooth headsets sometimes come with their own batteries that may not cover you over a long distance. Some of them are rechargeable, and you may need a car charger. Be sure you check all of this out before you get stuck on a long trip with a dead battery in your headset.
