1. They think that central vacuum motors are very quiet.

Most central vacuum reviews state that central vacuum systems operate with reduced noise in comparison to an upright vacuum cleaner.  This does not mean that the motor is quieter.  It does mean that as most of the base units for a central vac cleaner as located in a service area within the home, in a basement or garage for example, and this means that for people in the living area of the home will not hear the motor operating.  If you mistakenly locate a base unit for a central vacuum cleaner in the living area of the home, you will soon recognise the error of your ways!

2. They do not see how a central vacuum system can deep clean a home.

The main reason that central vacuum reviews go on about the deep cleaning power of a central vacuum system is because they do have a much more powerful suction than an upright cleaner.  Again this comes down to the advantage of locating the motor in a static location away from the living area.  Because of this the motor can be much larger and up to 10 times more powerful than any motor you could bring around the home with you.  This allows the vacuum system to remove ingrained dirt and particles from your home.
