Selecting A Central Vacuum Cleaner For Your Home.

If you have definitely decided that you need a central vacuum system for your home, good for you.  These systems are the best cleaning system that you can have for a really deep clean of your residence.  However, your job is not over yet!  Not all central vacuum systems are the same and by considering the following steps you can ensure that you will get a system that best suits your cleaning needs.

1. Know the power of the system that you intend to purchase.  There is no point in getting a system that is more suitable for cleaning a hotel than your home.  It will simply mean that you are spending money on unnecessary power.
2. Get a good quality lightweight hose.  Remember that the hose is the only part of the central vacuum system  that you will be in contact with on a continual basis.  Ensure that it is long enough and not too heavy or cumbersome.
3. Get a system that has plenty of proven accessories.  Central vacuum accessories are great as they perform specific and very valuable functions from cleaning your curtains to vacuuming your laptop.
4. Decide on whether you want to empty a canister when the central vacuum base unit becomes full  (which is infrequently), or have the vacuum dirt and dust bagged for your convenience.
5. If you have an allergy sufferer in your home, pay particular attention to models that boast HEPA filters, as these are the best systems to ensure maximum removal of dirt and dust from the living area.
6. Cost is always a factor when purchasing a product. However do not sell your soul to the manufacturer that is offering the cheapest product.  Try to balance quality with price, considering a lot of factors such as suction power (uplift0 and the amount of accessories available with each model.
7. Do plenty of research into different manufacturers and systems before you make a decision.  Looking at sites such as http://thecentralvacuum.com can be a great place to start getting tips on different aspects of central vacuum cleaners.

Misconceptions People May Have Regarding Central Vacuum Reviews.

When you are considering purchasing any product, you tend to start looking for endorsements of that product to help you to analyse the decision you want to make.  So, if you are thinking about a central vacuum system for your home you should start looking at central vacuum reviews.  However some central vacuum reviews can be a bit confusing and in this article we will point out a few misconceptions that people can form from reading these reviews.

1. They think that central vacuum motors are very quiet.

Most central vacuum reviews state that central vacuum systems operate with reduced noise in comparison to an upright vacuum cleaner.  This does not mean that the motor is quieter.  It does mean that as most of the base units for a central vac cleaner as located in a service area within the home, in a basement or garage for example, and this means that for people in the living area of the home will not hear the motor operating.  If you mistakenly locate a base unit for a central vacuum cleaner in the living area of the home, you will soon recognise the error of your ways!

2. They do not see how a central vacuum system can deep clean a home.

The main reason that central vacuum reviews go on about the deep cleaning power of a central vacuum system is because they do have a much more powerful suction than an upright cleaner.  Again this comes down to the advantage of locating the motor in a static location away from the living area.  Because of this the motor can be much larger and up to 10 times more powerful than any motor you could bring around the home with you.  This allows the vacuum system to remove ingrained dirt and particles from your home.

So the next time you read central vacuum reviews that talk about these issues, you will now be able to analyse how and why these issues are talked about.

Hide-A-Hose Will Enhance Central Vacuum Cleaning

The amazing thing about technology is that when you find something that improves or speeds up a way you have of doing things, you always think, ‘well, they will never improve on that’.  And they usually do. In this case central vacuum cleaning has been made even easier by the invention of the ‘hide-a-hose’ retractable hose system.

When I first came across central vacuum systems, quite a few years ago now, I was naturally suspicious.  I did not think that my old, trusty vacuum cleaner could be out done for performance.  Luckily I was persuaded to invest in a central vacuum system and now I always reckon that I do not know how I would get on without it.

It was so much easier and quieter to clean my house with a central vacuum cleaner  than with the old traditional mobile vacuum that was very noisy and cumbersome.  All I had to do was to carry around a long, light-weight hose from inlet to inlet and plug it in and start vacuuming.

Well now even that seems to be considered ‘old hat’.  This is thanks to another development in the type of hose you can use for central vacuum systems.  ‘hide-a-Hose’ is a retractable hose system that can be used for vacuum systems that are being newly installed, and perhaps more importantly from my point of view, for homes that already have a central vac system fitted.

With this new system, you no longer have to carry around the hose with you, you simply pull from the inlet the amount of hose you require.  When you have finished vacuuming the room or area you are in, the suction from the system will retract the hose back into the inlet and the wall.  You then carry on to the next inlet and repeat the process.

This development, which like all of the best inventions, is very simple and will further improve the central vacuum cleaning process. I do not intend to let my suspicious nature hold me back this time around.  Let me at it!
