First, you would need a large pan to melt the butter in and place it on medium heat. Then add the chicken legs and thighs and stir in slowly. Allow for the chicken to reach a brownish color before proceeding to the next step. Once it darkens to a deep brownish color, you can now add the pure organic Canadian maple sugar, chicken stock, rosemary, salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes. Constantly check and turn the chicken to each side to make sure that these are well cooked. You will notice that after a couple of minutes the sauce will begin to thicken. Add some more pepper and add the apple cider vinegar after 15 minutes. Taste the sweetness and the sourness and add vinegar or maple syrup as needed.  You do not need to use an oven for this dish.

This dish is very healthy because it has all the natural protein from the chicken, the antioxidants that come with the maple syrup and the flavor from the herb used, which is the rosemary. It is a nice and interesting dish, one that is not usually served in any restaurants or household.  It is very easy to make so trying this recipe out would be a breeze. Now, you can use maple syrup not just as the constant partner to your pancake but in other dishes like this chicken meal as well.

Maple Chocolate Confections

without comments

Chocolates are treats that anyone would like to receive.   But instead of getting those common variants for that special someone, why not give maple chocolates?   Maple chocolate  are made by either infusing the chocolate mixture with maple syrup or by encasing maple cream with chocolate.   Either way, these delights are a sure way to make someone happy.

Aside from these chocolate bars, maple chocolate fudge bars can also be made.   Since maple syrup is versatile, there is no limit as to where maple syrup can be used.   One of the most famous treats is the maple chocolate chip cookies. The ingredients needed include; wheat flour, baking powder, butter, salt, brown sugar, cane sugar, maple syrup, eggs, vanilla extract and chocolate chips.   First, while the butter is being beaten, brown sugar is gradually added followed by cane sugar and finally, maple syrup.

The eggs are added one at a time and vanilla extract follows.   Lastly, chocolate chips are folded into the batter with a spatula.  On a baking tray, the dough is dropped and flattened to make it round. One can also use molds and cookie cutters to make them more attractive.   It is then placed in the oven and baked for nine minutes.

These maple chocolate chip cookies can be stored for a period of time in an airtight cookie jar.  One can also experiment with the recipes by adding a bit of coconut, oatmeal, almonds and walnuts into the batter.  Aside from these cookies, there are also maple chocolate pies, maple brownies, maple chocolate tiramisu, and maple chocolate cheese cake.  The great thing about maple syrup is that despite the fact that it is intensely sweet, it is also light which is why it is hard to tire of eating maple treats.  Aside from the basic maple syrup, other products such as maple cream, Canadian maple butter and maple jelly can be used together to create the perfect dessert.
