Plyometric exercises are great because they help you burn those unwanted fats, boost your strength and can give you that explosive jump. A powerful vertical jump is very important for any athlete, regardless of the type sport. It also does not matter whether you are just starting out or already an advanced athlete. Following a plyometric workout routine is going to be immensely beneficial for you. To help get you started, here are fantastic workouts to jump higher that will aid you in developing the right muscles you need in order to obtain that explosive jump.

The first plyometric exercise that you need to do is called knee-hi’s. To do this, jump as high as you possibly can as you tuck your knees to your chest. This should be performed in quick successions, so the instance you land on the ground, jump up back into the air as quick as you can!

The second exercise that you should perform is bodyweight squats. Stand up straight with your feet shoulder width apart and hold both of your arms out to the front. Bend down as if you are sitting in a chair, until your thighs are parallel to the ground, slowly rise then repeat the entire process.

Next, you need to do lunges. Again, stand up straight with your legs shoulder width apart. Step forward using one feet then go down into a lunging position. For the proper form, your front knee must be at a ninety degree angle while your back knee is just a couple of inches above the ground. Now, explode upwards, switch to the other foot then repeat the entire process.

Last exercise in line is squat jumps. This is a bit similar to the bodyweight squats, but this time, as you crouch, propel yourself up in an explosive manner while you swivel your arms upward. The instance you land, jump back up again. With each jump, take off as high as you possibly can.
